Yoga for the Community

Please join us on January 28 at 5:30 p.m. for Yoga for the Community, a live Zoom yoga class led by our trauma-informed yoga instructor Rachel Smith. This class will be 60 minutes of gentle and restorative yoga, with meditation and breathing.
We will be doing gentle poses to ground, connect and de-stress. People can hold trauma in their bodies. With yoga, breathing, and meditation we can help manage our nervous systems and release it.
Rachel has been providing these yoga classes to CVS clients and staff to help process the trauma they experience in their lives and jobs. With all of us surviving the trauma of the pandemic itself, we wanted to open up this experience to the broader community.
When you join the virtual session, make sure to wear something comfortable. Please find a comfortable space to practice. Near a wall or furniture is preferred to use it as a prop. If you have a yoga mat and props, you can also use those. If you do not, you can use two-bed pillows and/or two bath towels on hand to support your body.
All proceeds will go towards Community Violence Solutions and the valuable work it continues to do throughout this pandemic. All participants will also be entered to win a basket of yoga supplies valued at $150.
